2017 Calendars

Hi there,
and a Happy New Year to you all!

It's been awhile, I've been relaxing and just doing a little crafting.....
So here's the first project for 2017 some little desk calendars. I make calendars every year and pass out as gifts to family and friends and thought I'd share this years calendars with you all.

A side view so you can see how it stands....and no you don't need glasses the photo is a  tad blurry, but it does show how the calendars stand! Oh my goodness the longer I look at this photo the more it's like looking through someone else's glasses and it's very disconcerting so scroll down quickly! So sorry 😉

Just a couple of them to show that I did change up the floral arrangement a little on each one. Suffice to say out of the 20 I made they all looked slightly different.

I got  two calendars out of one sheet of A4 card stock. I used the Botanical Blooms stamps and framelits from Stampin' Up. The details on the flowers were some lines drawn on each petal with a dark pink marker and the some darker pinky red ink sponged with a dauber in to the middle of each flower. The flower stamens were cut from yellow card stock, that I coloured with the dark pink marker on the straight bits, the ends were left yellow and the centre of each stamen was coloured with a dark brown marker ......I hope that makes sense. I was inspired by this idea for the calendars from this pinterest post  . I had tried a few calendar design ideas but was not feeling the love. So when I saw the floral design on the packaging "bada bing, bada boom" my calendar was born!
The sentiment is from Kinda Eclectic also from SU as well as  the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set that I   stamped with kraft ink, stamped off first, then stamped onto the  background of the kraft CS.

Well that's all today. I hope your day is truly wonderful.
Cheers Donna 😁

Sending a smile your way with Baby Bear......

Hi there!

Yes back again with some more cards featuring the ever adorable Baby Bear. Yet again I drew inspiration from Pinterest and the lovely Dawn's cards. Click HERE to see Dawn's cards.

The cards are again 10x10". Each bear was stamped in soft suede, crumb cake and sahara sand and then cut out. I was not going to be caught out again with over inking around the edges of the stamped image.
The backgrounds were sponged with coloured ink.  Gorgeous Grunge splodges were stamped with crumb cake ink over the sponging. I did flick my Wink of Stella over the top, but no amount of my inept photography was going to pick that up lol!

Here is marina mist sponging and the sentiment from the new Love and Affection stamp set from SU also stamped in marina mist ink.

Melon mambo sponging and inked sentiment.

Calypso coral sponging and inked sentiment.

Wisteria wonder sponging and inked sentiment.

Which is your favourite? I have to say calypso coral is my new fave at the moment,! As if you hadn't guessed from the last post. See HERE if you missed it.

That's it for today. I still have more Baby Bear cards to show, so do pop back and see.

Cheers Donna :)

Oh Baby!

Baby, Baby, Baby...... and no it's not the lyrics to a Justin Beiber song lol!

Greetings fellow crafters, how are you this cold and wet Melbourne evening? I am fine and have been busy crafting away.  Here's a little taste of what I have been busy creating this afternoon. Yes, a baby card for a friend. She did indeed have  a gorgeous little girl, a little while a go now, but I thought I'd share the card I made.

Apologies in advance  for the photography, I took the photos this evening, so no natural light and shadows, but you get the idea.

Once again I was inspired by a card on Pinterest from the lovely Monique.  Just click on Monique's name to be taken to her blog to see the original. As you can see my card is pretty much the same layout wise. I did have a different  elephant  and greeting stamp and different dsp. In fact my dsp is paper I stamped using, pink pirouette, crumb cake, so saffron and mint macroon ink with the gorgeous grunge stamp. The layout is a direct copy or CASE of Moniques as you can plainly see. Of course all my supplies are from Stampin' Up, retired and current. Here is the first card.....

And here is the second card.

Which colour combo is your favourite? I think I'm leaning towards the pink pirouette, so saffron and crumb cake ink one. Anyway, I have a spare for the future now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Cheers Donna :)
