Ferrero thanks!

Hi there,
how are you? It's all good here in  Melbourne.

My delightful little box that I have to share with you today is a gorgeous little double  slider box. I cannot take credit for this amazing creation. Once again I spied this on Pinterest. Thank the creative fairies for Pinterest lol! I followed the link to a fantastic blog called Flutterbyheidi. Heidi  has lots of amazing creations on her blog.

Every Friday she has a post called Ferrero Friday and yes you guessed it, she shows you a cute little box or such that houses one Ferrero chocolate!  Click HERE to go to Heidi's video tutorial on how to make your own double slider box. They are very easy to make, in fact I whipped up 12!

The photo below is the double slider in action.

Here is one last photo showing the double slider in action with said Ferrero chocolate attached with a glue dot.

In case you are wondering why I made 12....... I attended a Stamp Club today and wanted to give a treat to all the girls I stamp with. I love going to Stamp Club, it's  run by my super talented friend Felicity.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers Donna :)

PS. the girls loved them!

Pootles' Colour Challenge 003!

Hi there,

thanks for stopping by to visit my fledgling little blog.

Well I'm back again  to take part in Pootles' Colour Challenge 003. Click HERE to go to the challenge and see what it's all about.

While you're there have a go, you never know you may even win........ speaking of which I won last week's challenge 002! Talk about excited and shocked beyond belief, I still can't believe it. Click HERE to see my winning card.

Anyway onto Challenge 003. The colours for this challege are, Melon Mambo, Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry and Cucumber Crush, all really BRIGHT colours! You can use all the colours or just some of the colours, it's your choice.

Game on people this is what I came up with.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw these lovely bright  colours was tropical flowers.I was a bit concerned that the Melon Mambo and Watermelon Wonder would clash a bit, but I think not....they don't look half bad if you ask me.

Details for the card are:
1. Thick whisper white card  A5 base.
2. Watermelon Wonder mat.
3.Whisper White mat.
4. Four large flowers cranked out with the big shot using the Botanical Builder Framelits. Two in Melon Mambo, the other  two in Watermelon Wonder. I stacked the two flowers together in each colour to make them look a bit fuller. They each have a Crushed Curry centre, as well as a rhinestone
5. One small flower again cranked out with the big shot using the Botanical Builder Framelits, in Crushed Curry.
6. Two fronds/greenery in Cucumber Crush.
7. Watermelon Wonder ribbon tied in a knot around the card.
8. Happy birthday from Butterfly Basics stamp set, stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink.

One last photo so you can see the entire sentiment as the knot tail sort of obscured part of it in the last photo lol!

That's it people card done. It's your turn now to have a go. Pop over to Pootles and jump into the challenge!

Do leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by.
  Cheers Donna :)

Baby Bear Again.......!

Hi there,
welcome back to another post featuring the ever popular Baby Bear from SU.

I cannot claim this idea as mine. I found this idea on pinterest. Click HERE to go to the blog Willow Piggy that shows you how to make these beauties. The lovely Jerim even has a short youtube video showing you how she made them. I just had to copy them as they were too cute not to. Thanks Jerim for sharing!

All the bears were stamped with soft suede and crumb cake. The final colour used on each one was different, this bear has soft sky.

This bear's final colour layer was pink pirouette.

This bear's final colour layer was crumb cake.

The sentiments and banner are from the new Thoughtful Banners stamp set from Stampin 'Up. The banner was of course punched out with the new Duet Banner punch as well. All 3 banners were stamped in black and the sentiments were stamped in the colour to match the bear, if that makes sense.

So what do you think, cute right? They are small enough to attach as a gift card to a gift you are giving or as a small note card for someone special. My dear daughter loved hers!

Have a lovely day.

Cheers Donna :)

A Baby Bear Colour Challenge

Hi there,

are you tired of Baby Bear yet? " Most definitely" not I here you all shout! "Oh please show us another Baby Bear card Donna, go on please show us one".......

"OK if you insist"    ; )

Here is another card featuring Baby Bear and I am combining it with Pootles' Colour Challenge 002 over at POOTLES. Click HERE to go to the  challenge and possibly take part yourself.....go on have a go, you never know!

The colours to use are Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Wisteria Wonder and Emerald Envy. What a challenge it was. Here is what I came up with......... The colours particularly the Smokey Slate and Wisteria Wonder didn't photograph that well. In fact in the photos they both look grey to me. You will have to trust me that I did use Wisteria Wonder, because I did. It looks better IRL

I think in the photo above you can just distinguish between the Wisteria Wonder dsp next to the word hello stamped in Smokey Slate.

What do you think? Do you think I met the brief? I didn't add any extra colours this week and I used all the colours in the challenge, wahoo!

OK here are the details.

1. Whisper White 9x9 card base.
2. Wisteria Wonder DSP layer.
3.Whisper White backing piece.
4. Baby Bear stamped, cut out & mounted on dimensionals. Baby Bear is stamped as follows-stamp 3 is stamped using Wisteria wonder ink, stamp 2 is stamped in Smoky Slate, stamp 1 is stamped in stamped off once Wisteria Wonder.
5. Emerald Envy bow with a wash of clear Wink of Stella over the top, which does not photograph at all, insert sad face here!
6. The word hello is stamped with smoky slate and punched out with the small banner punch and popped up with a dimensional.

Do pop over to POOTLES and see what everyone has come up with and maybe take part yourself.

Do leave a comment to let me know what you think I'd love to hear from you.

Cheers Donna :)

Sending a smile your way with Baby Bear......

Hi there!

Yes back again with some more cards featuring the ever adorable Baby Bear. Yet again I drew inspiration from Pinterest and the lovely Dawn's cards. Click HERE to see Dawn's cards.

The cards are again 10x10". Each bear was stamped in soft suede, crumb cake and sahara sand and then cut out. I was not going to be caught out again with over inking around the edges of the stamped image.
The backgrounds were sponged with coloured ink.  Gorgeous Grunge splodges were stamped with crumb cake ink over the sponging. I did flick my Wink of Stella over the top, but no amount of my inept photography was going to pick that up lol!

Here is marina mist sponging and the sentiment from the new Love and Affection stamp set from SU also stamped in marina mist ink.

Melon mambo sponging and inked sentiment.

Calypso coral sponging and inked sentiment.

Wisteria wonder sponging and inked sentiment.

Which is your favourite? I have to say calypso coral is my new fave at the moment,! As if you hadn't guessed from the last post. See HERE if you missed it.

That's it for today. I still have more Baby Bear cards to show, so do pop back and see.

Cheers Donna :)

Baby Bear

Hi there!

Here is a set of  4 lovely 10 by 10" thank you cards.

I am quite besotted with the Baby Bear stamp from Stampin Up at the moment. So much so I have made a heap of cards that I will show you over the next few posts. I have seen so many cards on Pinterest with this stamp set and was inspired by Carolyn's card. Click HERE to see the card that inspired mine..

I was going to stamp the image directly onto the thick white  card, which is what I did. Unfortunately in my zest to ensure the image was completely stamped, I applied a little too much pressure when applying the ink and then stamping the image. So much so that I  got a nasty over inking around the edge of the stamped image. These images were to good to waste, so I cut out  3 of the bears. Only one image had stamped perfectly. Hence 3 of the bears are popped up onto dimensionals. Which you can just see from the photo below.

I stamped the bears with soft suede, crumb cake and sahara sand ink. The greeting was stamped in calypso coral, with calypso coral thick bakers twine wrapped around the spine of the card.

So what do you think? Cute right?

Don't forget to come back to see more cards featuring Baby Bear.

Cheers Donna :)

21 today.......

I wish I was 21 again,  alas I am not. My nephew has just turned 21, on the 27th  of June to be exact. This is the card I made for him. Once again I saw this style of card over on the ever amazingly talented Amanda from The Craft Spa's blog. Click on her name to see her cards in this style and all the measurements and  super easy to follow and play along at home instructions, on how to construct one for yourself. Thanks Amanda! If you have been reading my blog you will see this is my go to style of card to make at the moment, I think they are fabulous

Here is another photo showing the whole card. I used my new stamp set and matching framelits, the Number of Years from Stampin Up, with cherry cobbler & basic grey CS, basic grey ink and some very old & retired basic grey dsp, all from Stampin Up.  I cut out the numbers with the matching framelits and popped them up with dimensionals. The look who's turning stamped image isn't quite right, I had to re ink my basic grey stamp pad. I think I added too much so it was very, very juicy and it made the stamped image a bit on the blurred or as I like to call it, "the lumpy tumpy" side. I think I can just about get away with it being a hand made card after all lol. What do you think?

Cheers & have a great day Donna :)
